Boys meant yuck & friends were new
dreams were unshattered & worries were few
recess was too short & life was too long
decisions came easy & there was no need to belong
storks delivered babies & passions were strong
friendships were true & we knew right from wrong
bad things didnt happen,
only booboos brought tears
nightlights were never off & daddy erased all fears;
farewell meant just for the summer,
and friends didn't part
fun went on forever & never a broken heart

i have always thought that i was a person who would be ready for anything the world throws at me.

i drove a million miles to watch you smile this morning.
i smiled a million smiles watching leaves fall and remembering the sparkle of me in you.
there are moments in life that are kinda magical and perfect;
but they never last and you go on, but they have always left something with you.
last night i dialed the operator & asked her to connect me to your heart.
she said she'd try her best & give it a shot.
"i'm sorry", she said. " but due to the lack of communication, static, & mixed signals the connection has failed."
